Uriah Heep Live in Helsinki 2003

Last friday November 21st was a very special day for Ruokangas Guitars. Mick Box invited us all to see the Uriah Heep and Deep Purple concert in Helsinki Icehall. What a cool day – the Finnish prime time news (Kymmenen Uutiset) even made a story about us and Mick – see the video here! We had great fun – thank you Mick for arranging this unique happening for us!

Mick started the show with his Duke Custom. This was the first gig with the new custom made Ruokangas pickups fitted in the guitar.

Trevor Bolder up front. The show blasted off with Easy Livin’ – followed by Shadows Of Grief.

Classic rock anthems followed one by one – The Other Side Of Midnight, Stealin’, Wise Man, The Wizard, Gypsy, Sunrise…

The band was really kicking! A great show after so many years since the previous gig in Finland.

We also heard July Morning, Look At Yourself, Bird Of Prey and last but not least Lady In Black.

Bernie Shaw was in great shape. I think this pic was taken during Look At Yourself…

It was nice to see all the Micks’ trademark licks – looks so easy if you know how to do it…

From left to right: Trevor Bolder, Mick Box, Phil Lanzon, Lee Kerslake and Bernie Shaw. The pic was actually taken BEFORE the gig, just a few minutes before they went on stage. I asked the band politely to look as serious as they could… 🙂
